News from Charles Oldham Woodcarving

Harvest time

Very pleased that my wheatsheaf has been well received by the lovely parishioners of St Peters church in Evercreech.

New teaching studio

I've moved my workshop from Frome to the lovely Old School in Walton, deepest Somerset. It's much bigger and I've taken over running regular weekly woodcarving classes. They start up from the end of September on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday mornings. Check out my other website here if you are interested.

... and still busy with other work...

Continuing the royal theme...

This recent work was for a door surround in Kensington Palace:

Jewellery box for a princess

Commissioned jewellery box for a real princess who was a very satisfied customer:

made in walnut, the interior, complete with secret compartment, fitted by genius perfectionist Paul Walsh,

and photographed here to great effect with some lavish Tom McEwan jewels

15 mins of fame on Flog It!

Today's episode of "Flog It" at last aired a programme I went up to Ragley Hall to be filmed for about a year ago! You can catch up at this link until December 9th. I talked about Grinling Gibbons, showed off some of my work, and encouraged Paul Martin to have a go at carving. Flog It episode Nov 10th
